Helping animals in need one lawn at a time!!

Dear Green Paws Lawn Care Friends and Customers,

Like for so many, April 15th always fills me with anxiety and stress as we gather our finances together to send a portion of them Uncle Sam’s way. This year is especially hard when the economy is so unstable and it seems like our government is relying more and more on our future taxes to put us back on the path to prosperity.

I myself have my doubts if spending taxpayer money will actually be the solution that this country needs, but this letter isn’t about that.

This letter is about Green Paws Lawn Care’s solution to making ourselves feel better at what might could be called the worst time of the year.

Each year I am thankful for tax time as it is also the time of the year that we can get an actual amount of our adjusted gross income and as we write out that check to Uncle Sam we also write one more in the amount of 2% of our AGI for animal’s in need =)

This year we are pleased to announce the beneficiary of 2009’s donation of $250.00 is Dog & Kitty City, operated by the Humane Society of Dallas County. Dog and Kitty City’s purpose is to provide a safe and healthy environment for the indigent, abused and neglected animals of Dallas. Their shelter provides a service in educating the Dallas community on responsible pet ownership. Dog & Kitty City has operated for over 30 years as a no kill animal shelter. They are a 501.c3 non profit organization and do not receive any tax support. Relying solely on private donations, their service to the animals depends completely on the generosity of the community and on committed, dedicated volunteers.

Green Paws Lawn care is pleased to be able to support them in their purpose and wishes to thank each and every one of you for making that possible!

While we know that this year’s donation doesn’t seem like a whole lot, rather than let that frustrate us because we would like to be able to do more, we look forward to increasing future years efforts, and do our best to keep in mind that every little bit helps.

Below we have included a list of ways our donation may be used:

$25 first vaccinations and tests for a dog or cat
$50 a neuter for a dog or two cats
$75 one month of heartguard for all shelter dogs
$100 one month of frontline for all shelter dogs and cats
$250 cat litter for one month
$500 food for the shelter for two weeks
$1000 major medical expenses for injured or sick animals

As you can see from the above list a little can go a long way and do a lot of good for so many!

We feel extremely blessed and lucky to have such wonderful supportive friends and customers and look forward to many more years of working together helping animals in need!
